A Nail Biting Cure For Everyone

By

The Universal Nail Biting Cure

For some, nail biting is far more than just an annoying bad habit. It can lead to serious infection and permanent disfigurement if severe and long-lasting enough. Whilst the root cause of the problem is not completely understood, doctors are generally agreed it is one of the most common symptoms of anxiety, stress and depression, especially in teenagers. Adults tend to deal with anxiety in different ways, though it is not uncommon in many men above the age of forty-five. Fortunately however, a Nail Biting Cure for all is now widely available and at little expense.

It is not uncommon for compulsive adult biters to be ashamed of their hands. They will often go out of their way to avoid social engagements and spend much of their time with their hands thrust deep in their pockets or firmly grasped behind their backs. Such is the magnitude of the problem for some, it can lead to other disorders such as stress and anxiety. It is one of life's ironies that the root cause of the problem, could be worsened by a symptom of the problem itself. If caught up in this vicious circle, both issues can deepen rapidly.

There are many therapies and treatments that hope to provide a nail biting cure, such as hypnosis, but many of these are expensive both financially and by the sheer length of time spent in therapy or repeat visits to the clinic. Now however, there is another way that quite apart from aiming to cure the underlying issues or provide techniques to help combat instances of biting from the patient, will stop the act from happening directly.

How Any Person Can Stop Biting Finger Nails

The treatment is essentially a molded tooth guard that can be fitted to either the upper or lower teeth. Practically invisible, these guards prevent the biting act from taking place, yet remains easily removable for talking and eating. Developed from molds used to treat sufferers of teeth grinding, they work in much the same way, by quite literally stopping the teeth making contact with the nail. Made out of a toughened medical plastic, they remain flexible and gentle, thus causing no damage to either mouth or finger.

Whilst generic teeth guards can be purchased from many online retailers, and through sports stores, it is advisable to seek consultation with a dental professional in order that a proper mold can be taken of the teeth, to ensure best fit and prevent any accidents from happening should the sufferer fall asleep whilst wearing the guard. Discussed with a qualified dentist, it will also help them understand any tooth damage that has been caused by periods of biting, and thus allow them to treat this most effectively.

Whilst this treatment does not claim to provide a Nail Biting Cure, it does resolve the problem for many people and for some eventually has lead to complete eradication of the problem, as they then develop the habit of not biting the nails having been prevented from doing so automatically.

I had the habit of nail biting during my school days and can't say how ugly my nails looked then. My friends beautiful and manicured nails motivated me to stop the habit.

zeev,

Are you saying that putting this putty on your nails helped? Like using that special nail polish stuff?

You might be onto something!
